Summer in Texas is always hot, but we’ve got some ideas on how you can stay cool (and stay sane)!
Pools are the obvious solution to the heat here, but have you thought about heading to the splash pad? Railroad Depot has one close to Grove Landing, but if you’re looking to head into the Woodlands, Check out May Valley Park, Timarron Park, or Village Green in Creekside! Market Street and Waterway Square both have spraygrounds, as well. If you enjoy live music in the great outdoors, be sure to check out Waterway Nights and Rock the Row in the Woodlands. The Riva Row Boat House is a great spot to find kayaks, paddleboards, and more water activities. For miles of trails and nature education, check out the Spring Creek Greenway and Nature Center.
We get it. The air conditioning is calling your name. If that’s you, take the kids to catch a movie for a dollar at the Regal Summer Movie Express. Cinemark is also doing the Summer Movie Clubhouse, which means $1.50 movies all summer. Time to Spare is a great spot to take the kids bowling for free in Tomball, or grab a season pass to Bowlero in the Woodlands for 3 games a day. Check out the reading programs at your local library, Barnes & Noble, and HEB to win prizes. Your library also hosts events all summer long to keep you and your family out of the heat!
Burn Some Energy
If the kids are literally bouncing off the walls, pack them up and head to Bouncin’ Bears or Altitude! Take the little ones to Kanga’s Indoor Playcenter or Play Street Museum for spots that were designed just for them. For some free air-conditioned fun, be sure to look at the Woodlands Church Play Area. If Mom and Dad need a break (we know it happens!) check out Adventure Kids Playcare.
This is just a small sampling of all the things going on in the area this summer. For a full list, be sure to check out Woodlands Mommy’s full Summer Survival Guide! You’ll never be without things to do in this community. Happy summer to you and your family!
